With school starting up again, getting our kids back into the routine of school can be challenging. One challenge parents and carers face are getting their children back into the habit of completing homework, assignments and studying.

We've put together some tips and tricks that you can do with your children to get them prepared for the transition back to studying:

    • The week before school starts, sit down together and plan. This can include outlining what subjects they may be studying in Term 1, any extra-curricular activities they will be doing and planning their after-school schedules out in a calendar.
    • Help your children (or if they're old enough to do it themselves), clean and set up their study area. Making sure the space is free of distractions and has plenty of light and air is a great way to ensure children can focus on getting back into their routine.
    • It might be useful to explore the options of using apps to create to-do lists and help your children focus while studying.
    • Once your children do receive due dates, make sure they are scheduled into their calendars.

What are some other tips and tricks you use to get your children ready for studying and assessments once school starts?
